Seriously???

I've been told several times I should write a book about my crazy life experiences (certain things ONLY happen to me), my encounters with men (the good, bad and clinically insane), and my phenomenal nine year career as a mom. Honestly writing a book is an understatement! I could write an Encyclopedia! So to all you moms out there who think you have it tough, here's a little humor for your day.

Last night I was spending some quality minutes with my daughter looking up songs to add to her iPod. I can hear three of my other children laughing and carrying on like they had discovered gold. For a brief moment I thought "how cute! they're all getting along!"....then the mom in me kicked in, as did reality, and I thought "are you kidding me, what are they into now???". Low and behold they had discovered how GREAT Lego's looked thrown ALL OVER a bedroom. That's nothing you say right? Well I think the same thing too! However, when asked to clean up the colorful disaster I'm met with three faces who immediately say "I didn't do it. I can't clean it up because I too tired." Really??? My six year old son then throws himself onto the floor literally withering through the mess, in tears, whining "I can't! I'm too tired, and my throat hurts". Come on!!!! Aside from yelling, and half laughing, how do you respond with anything but "Seriously???"

New Years Challenge

Life never ceases to amaze me. It’s forever changing, yet hauntingly remains the same. For the past year I have been trying to explain to my daughter that change is a good thing. We may not always like it, we may get sad, angry or happy about it, but through it all we have to believe and find the positive in ALL of it. The trick with telling her that, is reminding myself daily that I too believe that it’s good. Not always an easy task.

When life throws you off course, which at some point or another it’s going to, I believe you have a choice. You can fight the change, make yourself miserable and chose to remain on the same path or you can open up new doors and take a journey sure to be filled with challenges, road blocks and whatever other obstacles life has to offer. How you handle those obstacles may change your path again. That’s one of the greatest wonders in life; never missing an opportunity to explore all the endless possibilities out there.

Ride that bull, say you’re sorry, help a friend, donate to a charity, love without fear, take a chance, and explore the road less taken. We only get one life, but lots of chances to make it better.
